„Dzień przeciwko Przemocy”

1 czerwca 2009 r. w Gimnazjum w Wojkowicach w sposób uroczysty obchodzono Miêdzynarodowy Dzień Dziecka. Zorganizowaliśmy w tym dniu Dzień przeciwko Przemocy realizowany w tym roku w ramach projektu partnerskiego Comenius- „Uczenie się przez całe życie”. Imprezę tę powiązano z Ogólnopolską Kampanią Bezpieczna Szkoła i Ogólnopolską Kampanią Zachowaj Trzeźwy Umysł. Gimnazjaliści brali udział w konkurencjach konkurencjach: sportowych, plastycznych i muzycznych.

Imprezie towarzyszyła dobra zabawa i miła atmosfera. Uczestnicy realizując hasła obu kampanii poznali jak ciekawie i interesująco wypełnić wolny czas bez używek i środków dopingujących. Ale nie poprzestaliśmy na zabawie. Młodzież dyskutowała o zjawisku przemocy we współczesnym świecie. Gimnazjaliści w sposób zdecydowany wyrazili chęć walki z agresją. Nasze opinie poznają uczniowie szkół partnerskich w Turcji i Finlandii. Zostaną również umieszczone na stronie internetowej projektu „Długotrwała Współpraca Instytucji przeciwko Przemocy w Szkole”.

Anti Violence Day in Gimnazjum, in Wojkowice, June 2009.

Violence around the world is a common problem. People can not cope with it. For this reason, days without violence are held. I try not to use violence against others.
Izabella Jędrysek klasa I c

Violence is a negative phenomenon common among young people.
We should try to prevent it. Many people believe that  the violence doesn`t exist and never notice it.
However, there are organizations and social groups affected in assistance.
In many countries, for example, shares are taken: "Day Without Violence"
in order to reduce aggression among children.

What's your opinion about violence.
Violence appears at schools, houses and in the streets. We hear about acts of violence almost every single day.
Even at school, I can hear about problems concerning violence. The sad thing is the fact, that most of my friends are not aware of the presence of violence around them. Violence is divided into two groups: physical and psychical. Violence is not only force but also a word persecution. Pupils have an access to the internet and TV where they can see violence. Later on, they copy what they see. No one controls them. Very often people, for example learners, use violence but they don't know about it. Telling someone bad things and laughing at someone is an act of violence too. Schools should fight with young offenders. I think that if students meet and talk about it to the police at school, maybe they will be reasponsible and careful.
We must object to violence. We can't agree with violence and we can't agree with terror wherever we are.
The violence is the worst problem in the school. It’s a frequent problem at schools, and we must  know how we can cope with these difficult situations. Pupils touched by violence are intimidated and lost. They can’t be happy. They haven’t got any friends. They can’t cope with their lives. They don’t understand that everybody can be free, and cheerful. They want to change that, but they don’t know how. They need help from their parents, teachers and friends.
Aggression can be physical or emotional. Both: girls and boys can be unpleasant and cruel. Violence touches everybody, but somebody’s really sensitive and shy.
Perpetrator of violence often are to get off scot-free. They want  money, torment and do other things which hurt people. In the school other young people dismiss this problem and display compassion.
Our help is their last chance to a better life. We can do a lot, but the most important thing is to understand the problem. Maybe we can look for our friend who can be a victim of aggression. We must think about it seriously. Talks about experience are a good idea. I think it’s a very good solution to this problem. Maybe young people will be really courageous and they will have new friends? We mustn’t allow to scold our friends! We must do something!
Michalina Dzienia kl. Ia

Together we can stop the violence.
There should be more policemen in the streets. For students at schools can be stricter punishment than now. The programs can utilize curricula customized for age and gender to teach empathy and respect and introduce the young, parents and school personnel to proven strategies that prevent and overcome bullying behavior. In posters we can promote proactive eliminating peer abuse through kindness and positive peer relationships. Streets and public places can be monitored. We can stop the spiral of violence by great commitment of society as a whole.
Wojciech Kamiński, kl. III B.

What do I think about violence?
Violence is a real big problem in schools, at homes and in the whole world. I think we should fight with it. But to fight we must have knowledge about violence.
Violence is a term used to describe attacking people. There are many types of violence. Verbal - it’s name calling or anything that hurts other peoples` feelings.  Racial - that act of violence is chosen because of someone’s race. Physical - it’s fighting, killing, or hurting other people. And the last one, more dangerous, emotional violence it’s  e.g. bullying.  In this time we also have cyber bullying. For example:  sending vulgar messages or flame wars. It’s difficult to fight with it, but anyone in the Net isn’t anonymous.
I think violence is mindless and we can replace it with a dialogue. To better  understanding other people we must hear them out. The dialogue is very important to solve conflicts.  When we understand their problems we won’t be angry because they do something wrong. To peace in the world all people must be tolerant too. Race, appearance  or different points of view can’t be the reason of quarrels. Every person is different and we must remember that we aren’t perfect.
We can help to reduce violence. We can make posters, write essays or talk with people about it. And we must be tolerant and get to know cultures. We should do it to make the Earth safer and happy for everybody.
Tomasz Matyja

Violence is one of the oldest and most influential aspects of human society. Primitive Man (as well as animals) used violence to show domination over other members of the group. Ages later people settled down and created countries, so they started to use force against their neighbours, with a view on enlarging their territory. Nowadays we see violence almost everywhere: in computer games and TV, in the school, even on the streets. In my opinion fighting with violence is very difficult, because first we must change peoples` thinking. As a part of teenager world I know very well that hardly anyone of us will call the police, when he sees fighting or other form of violence. The matter is that teenagers don't trust the police, moreover they don't want to talk with teachers about aggressors, because they are afraid of being rejected by a youth group. I think that psychological and virtual violence is not as dangerous as physical violence, it's also not very common in teenager groups. Violence is a major problem in our society, but in my opinion teachers and school pedagogues are now on a good way to solve this problem and decrease the violence rate in our schools.
